A practice built on rigor, not pedigree alone.
E.H. Williams II Law & Strategy PLLC was founded by Edward H. Williams II, a litigator whose career has moved between the country’s most demanding legal institutions and some of its most consequential civil rights work.
Before founding the firm, Williams practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom; WilmerHale; and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he handled complex commercial and constitutional litigation for institutional clients, high stakes investigations, and crisis matters with significant reputational risk. He clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia and has argued before several federal courts of appeal and district courts.

I want to build a firm that is the first call for clients trying to get it right in this challenging moment.
Edward H. Williams II
He previously co-directed the Civil Rights Clinic at Howard University School of Law, supervising student litigation on behalf of individuals and communities facing systemic injustice, and taught law and politics at the university level.
That range, Big Law discipline, appellate-level precision, and a sustained civil rights practice, is the foundation of the firm. Williams built E.H. Williams II Law & Strategy to offer institutional clients a rare combination: the rigor of a large-firm litigator and the judgment of someone who has spent his career thinking about what the law owes the people it is meant to protect.
